Sleepless nights over textbooks on international relations, difficult assignments and anxious expectation of results are already something from the past. The winners and prize-winners of the 3rd season of the International School Olympiad are already counting the days before arriving in Moscow and starting their studies at MGIMO. We talked to future students and found out how they are preparing for a new period of their lives.
Emir Baryktabasov, Kyrgyzstan: “I have always dreamed of studying at one of the leading universities in Russia. MGIMO gives you an opportunity not only to receive a high-quality education but also to meet people from around the world.”
Emir is the winner of the Olympiad and future student of International Law School. He graduated from high school with honors and is actively engaged in boxing and football. His elder sister Sabina is currently studying at MGIMO’s School of International Relations, and her example motivated Emir to follow the same path.
Anushka Kalita, India: “Learning that I had succeeded in the Olympiad filled me with both excitement and deep gratitude. It was not an easy challenge, but I was able to overcome it.”
Anoushka is the prize-winner of the Olympiad and future student of the English-language bachelor’s program at the School of International Relations. She holds a black belt in taekwondo and is deeply committed to the art of diplomacy. She was drawn by Russia’s sincerity in addressing its history and by MGIMO’s international reputation: “MGIMO offers far more than academic knowledge. It encourages language learning, personal development, and opportunities to go beyond the textbook.” Anoushka is eager to expand her network of international contacts and to deepen her understanding of global politics.
Marta Giris, Turkmenistan: “When I saw the final results I could hardly believe my eyes at first. My confusion was immediately replaced by genuine joy.”
Martha is the winner of the Olympiad and future student of the School of International Journalism. She graduated from high school with a gold medal. Her interest in international relations stems in part from her father’s work in diplomacy. Her passion for creativity ultimately determined her choice of international journalism: “I hope that MGIMO will allow me to realize my potential, improve my communication skills, and become a true professional in my field.”
Welcome, dear new students! We’re sure that great things are waiting for you ahead.
See you at MGIMO University!
