We are glad to inform you that the registration for the MGIMO International School Olympiad opens on August 25, 2025. Held for the fourth time, this competition offers high school students from various countries the opportunity to get enrolled into MGIMO on a tuition-free basis.

This year the competition is open to high school students from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, India, Iran, Serbia, African and Latin American countries.

Winners of the Olympiad will be granted the chance to get enrolled into one of MGIMO’s bachelor programs (taught either in Russian or in English), or into preparatory program for international students. The prize-winners will be able to enter the University on a priority basis as a result of a portfolio competition for places with tuition fees.

Over the past three years, over 7,000 students have taken part in the Olympiad, many of them have already become MGIMO students.

You can do the tasks of the Olympiad either in Russian or in English. Participants will be assessed on their language proficiency (Russian – only for the CIS states nationals, and English), as well as their general knowledge of geography, world history, and international relations.

The competition will be conducted in two stages: the online qualifying round will take place in November 2025, and the final round – in February-March 2026 in a hybrid (online and in-person) format.

Registration will continue until October 31, 2025.
